Born: November 3, 1935, Rezekne, Latvia

Died: 2012., Riga, Latvia

Interests in inventing:

  • Peculiarities of proteolytic, fibrinolytic enzyme and their activator (streptokinase, urokinase and tissue plasminogen activator) reactions and clinic possibilities in the medical treatment of andrologic patients. Enzyme therapy is the medicine of the future.
  • How to achieve the regress of antibiotic-resistance for the patients with chronic antibiotic-resistant chlamydial prostatitis? Problems with the resistance of antibiotics are still unsolved all around the world. But we managed to invent a method for the treatment of patients with antibiotic-resistance. Antibiotics that were ineffective now become effective.

Selection of patent documents:

Totally: 41 authors' certificate of USSR, 1 application for the patent of Latvia
  • P. Ivdra. Authors' certificate of USSR Nr. 486750, 1975.
  • V.Purmalis, P. Ivdra, V.Utkins, E.Preimate, I.Silinsh. Authors' certificate of USSR Nr.1030725, 1984.
  • V.Korzans, P. Ivdra, V.Purmalis, J.Prombergs. Authors' certificate of USSR Nr.1237213, 1986.

About the inventions

Enzyme therapy of chronic prostatitis with streptokinase. The method is perspective also in a further future as it is accessible to all social strata, incl. the underprivileged. Streptokinase is an enzyme preparation of microbiological origin and the resources of its production are unlimited and cheap - milk whey is used as a culture medium in which the pure culture of hemolytic streptococcus is cultivated.
